Trojan volleyball falls to No. 15 Missouri Baptist, Friends (Kan.)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Trinity International Trojans wrapped up arguably the toughest four-game stretch of the year Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets to No. 15 Missouri Baptist, and Friends (Kan.).
The Trojans (5-19) struggled to get the offense going against hosts Missouri Baptist, scoring just four points in the opening set. TIU recovered in sets two and three but ultimately fell in straight sets, 25-4, 25-19, 25-17. Samantha Stoller led the team with five kills, while Brittany Najera collected 14 digs on the back line.
Later in the afternoon, TIU took on the Friends (Kan.) Falcons, but again fell in striaght sets, 25-16, 25-13, 25-20. Victoria Boyd and Julie Gregornik picked up a team-high seven kills, while Gregornik and Suzanne Knudtson each had eight digs in the match.
Stoller was named to the All-Tournament team for her work over the weekend. Combined over all four matches, the Cissna Park, Ill. native averaged 1.75 kills per set for the Trojans.
