CHICAGO, Ill. -- Trinity International ended a four-match slide along with a long scoring drought with a high-scoring win over the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks on Tuesday night. The Trojans put up three goals for the first time this season in a 3-1 win, as freshman Zach Reget scores a pair of goals to lead TIU to their second victory of the year.

The Trojans (2-8-3) battled the Hawks to a scoreless first half, as both sides generated three shots apiece before the break. A pair of freshmen, in Reget and Joseph Sanborn scored their first collegiate goals in the second half, as Sanborn put the Trojans ahead 1-0 with his goal in the 62nd minute. Reget then put in his first ever collegiate goal less than a minute later, giving TIU their first two-goal lead of the season.

Illinois Tech's Amlaiky Nordine cut the TIU lead back down to one with his goal in the 70th minute. The Trojans fought to keep IIT from scoring the equalizer in the closing minutes, until Reget put the game away for good with his second goal of the game, in the 79th minute.

David Hasbani and Erik Yamane both picked up assists in the win. Hasbani scored the helper on Sanborn's goal to get TIU on the scoreboard, while Yamane assisted with Reget's clincher in the closing minutes.

The Trojans will return to CCAC action this weekend, when they travel to face Roosevelt on Saturday, October 26. Kickoff against the Lakers is set for 2:00 p.m.
