TIU Volleyball falls to Roosevelt, 3-0

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Trinity International attack never quite got rolling, as the Trojans fell to the Roosevelt Lakers, 25-12, 25-18, 25-11. Eighteen attack errors slowed TIU's offense, which hit for a -.038 percentage on the day.
The Trojans (6-20, 4-8 CCAC) fell behind early in the opening set, dropping six of the first seven points of the match. Their best run of the night came in game two, when trailing 16-12, TIU put together a 4-1 run, highlighted by kills from Victoria Boyd and Julie Gregornik, to close the gap to a narrow 17-16 Roosevelt lead. The Lakers (22-8, 7-4 CCAC) would outscore the Trojans 8-2 throughout the rest of the set to go ahead two games to none.
Boyd finished the match with a team-high four kills. Allison Boggs and Kali Cramer each finished with six assists, while Gabrielle LaMonaca had 13 digs to lead the Trojans.
The Trojans are back in action this Friday, when they kick off the CCAC Crossover Tournament with a match against Indiana-South Bend. Tipoff against the Titans is set for Friday, October 26, at 4:00 p.m.
