ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Senior Victoria Boyd led the Trojans with seven kills, but the Trojans ultimately fell in straight sets to the Indiana-South Bend Titans, 25-15, 25-11, 25-18, Thursday afternoon in the team's opening match of the CCAC Crossover, hosted by Robert Morris. The Trojans committed 25 attack errors in the match, and was held to a negative hitting percentage on the day.

Trinity (6-21, 4-9 CCAC) opened up the match with the opening two points, including a kill from libero Gabrielle LaMonaca. TIU was able to hold their ground until, with a 10-8 lead, the Titans (11-11, 7-4 CCAC) opened up a 17-5 run to close out the set and take the 1-0 lead in the match. The Trojans were unable to get into a rhythm in the second game, collecting just four kills, while the Titans used a 12-2 run in the middle of the set en route to a 25-11 win.

TIU held an early 3-2 edge in the third game, following a block from Julie Gregornik and Samantha Stoller, but back-to-back scores from IU-South Bend gave the Titans the lead for good, earning the sweep.

Setter Allison Boggs led the Trojans with 11 assists on the day, while LaMonaca picked up 21 digs, her second-highest total on the year. Gregornik picked up 16 digs as well, just three shy of her career high of 19.

Trinity International will face a pair of conference foes tomorrow, in St. Francis and Calumet St. Joseph. The action kicks off at 2:00 p.m., and for fans not able to make the trip, live stats will be made available courtesy of Robert Morris, at EagleSportsNetwork.com.
