TIU Men's Soccer suffers home loss to Robert Morris, 7-1

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- The Trinity International Trojans allowed three goals in the first half, followed by four more in the second, falling to the Robert Morris Eagles, 7-1, Wednesday afternoon at Schartner Field. TIU allowed season highs in goals and shots on goal in the loss.
The Eagles (6-9, 3-6 CCAC) took the lead in the 6th minute, from a goal by RMU's Bobby Hurwitz. Robert Morris would add two more goals before the break, scoring in the 38th and 39th minutes. The Trojans (2-10-3, 1-7-1 CCAC) held possession for a good portion of the first half, but were outshot 11-4 before the break.
RMU went ahead 4-0 with a bicycle-kick goal less than a minute into the second half. Trinity responded with a strike from Zach Reget in the 56th minute, connecting with Nolan Walsh and Jared Ventura, who sent the ball into the box from the left flank. The goal was Reget's third of the year, and third in the last three matches for the Trojans.
Robert Morris would extend their lead with goals in the 72nd, 73rd, and 81st minutes to take a commanding 7-1 edge. The seventh and final goal came on a penalty kick granted by the referee after a foul inside the box.
The Trojans hit the road for their last away match of the season, when they take on St. Francis in Joliet this Saturday, November 2. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
