ELGIN, Ill. -- After suffering early knockouts in the past two CCAC Tournaments, the Trinity International Trojans extended their season with a 2-0 victory over the Judson Eagles, in the quarterfinal round of the conference championship tournament. As the No. 5 seed, the Trojans pulled off a mild upset over the No. 4 Eagles, as Jessica Williams and Morgan Elzinga each score goals in the win.

The Trojans (12-5-2) enjoyed a stronger defensive performance than they did in the regular season meeting with Judson, which resulted in a 2-2 draw. TIU held Judson to just five shots in the quarterfinal match, outshooting JU 22-5. Williams put Trinity International on the board with her second goal of the season, in the 33rd minute, connecting with Layla Zahniser and Samantha Yasatan, who were given assists on the goal.

Elzinga extended her team's lead after coming out of the halftime break with a 1-0 lead, scoring her ninth goal of the season in the 57th minute. Yasatan picked up her second assist on the play, while Gina Collesano fed the ball forward on the play to earn an assist as well.

With the win, the Trojans advance to the CCAC Tournament semifinals, where they will take on top-seeded and regular season champions Robert Morris. RMU defeated Trinity International in the regular season, back on Oct. 29, in a 5-2 decision at Schartner Field. Kickoff for the rematch is set for Wednesday, November 13, with game time to be announced.
