DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Freshman Thomas Amrine was one of four Trojans to finish in double figures, as Trinity International fell to the Bethany (Kan.) Swedes, 92-82, in the consolation game of the Bahama House Shootout, hosted by Embry-Riddle (Fla.). The Ramstein, Germany native collected a career-high 27 points, on 11-for-19 shooting on the night.

The Trojans (3-13) got off to a slow start offensively, as Bethany (11-4) took a 16-1 lead over the first six minutes of the game. The Swedes' lead stretched to as much as 30 points in the first half, before the Trojans battled back to close the gap before the halftime break. TIU outscored Bethany 28-10 over the final 8:12 of the first half. The Swedes went into the break with a 46-34 advantage.

Trinity cut the lead down to 10 points early in the second half, when Andy Stauffer knocked down one of his two three-pointers on the night, making it a 56-46 Bethany lead with 14:53 to play. TIU slowly chipped away at the lead down the stretch, tying the game at 72-72 on an Amrine three-pointer with 7:10 remaining. Bethany went back in front with a quick 7-0 run, and would hold the lead the rest of the way.

The Trojans return to CCAC action next week, when they travel to South Bend to take on Holy Cross. Tipoff against the Saints on Saturday, January 11 is set for 2:00 p.m.
