DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Looking to build some momentum after last weekend's victory, the Trinity International Trojans played three tough sets, but couldn't quite close out the game, falling at home to the Roosevelt Lakers in three sets, 27-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Samantha Stoller led the Trojan attack, collecting 11 kills on the night, and hitting for a .208 percentage. Libero
Gabrielle LaMonaca led the team in digs, and was the only Trojan in double figures, with 10.
The Trojans looked to be in control early in the first game, taking advantage of a service error to tie the score at 5-5, then scoring five straight to claim a 10-5 edge, highlighted by a solo block and a kill from Stoller on back-to-back points. Roosevelt then responded with an 8-3 run of their own, however, tying the game again, this time at 13-13. Trinity held onto the lead with a Mickayla Stall kill, and was one point away from game point, when the Lakers scored four straight to take a 24-23 lead.
Lexie Voss would tie the game twice, at 24-24 and 25-25, but a pair of attack errors by the Trojans would give Roosevelt enough for a 27-25 opening set win.
The script was flipped in game number two, as Roosevelt used an early rally to hold the lead most of the game. The Trojans made their run with a seven-point rally to tie the score at 20-20, as Alida Knudston put down the kill to even the score. A Trojan service error gave Roosevelt game point a few plays later however, and despite
Julie Gregornik's kill at 24-23, the Lakers took the second set on the next play.
RU closed out the match with by a fairly comfortable margin, despite the Trojans tying the score at 9-9 midway through the game. A 9-2 Laker rally proved to be enough for Roosevelt to stay in front the rest of the way, ultimately taking the set 25-16.
The Trojans have just two matches remaining in the regular season, both inside the Van Dixhorn Arena. TIU first will play host to the Judson Eagles on Saturday, November 1, at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Senior Night contest against Cardinal Stritch on Thursday, November 6, at 7:00 p.m.
