In the opening set, the Wolves got off to an early 5-0 lead before
Lexie Voss was able to put TIU on the board with her first kill of the night. It would then be another 5-0 run from the Wolves before the Trojans would score again, this time thanks to Stoller. The Trojans struggled to get into a rhythm early in the contest but would soon find it as they go on a 4-0 run themselves, pulling the game to within six, at 15-9. Cardinal Stritch would score four of the last six points, as TIU would go on to lose the first set, 25-16.

An 8-1 run early in the set for Cardinal Stritch, coupled with six straight points later helped the Wolves to a 25-12 set win.
It wouldn't be until the third set where the Trojans would keep the Wolves in their sights and the game close. The Trojans would battle back to tie the set at 10-10 on a
Suzanne Knudtson ace, but an 8-3 response by the Wolves would put CSU ahead 18-13. TIU would outscore Stritch 6-4 over the final ten points of the match, but CSU would finish out the set, 25-21. Knudtson finished the match with a team-high 20 assists.
