DEERFIELD, Ill. – In their second game of the season, as part of the La Quinta Classic, the Trinity International Trojans women's basketball squad hosted their second-nationally ranked team in as many nights, in the No. 24 Cornerstone Golden Eagles. In what was a solid defensive night from the Trojans, they struggled offensively suffering a 39-52 loss.

Basha Ramsey had a great night from the field as she led the Trojans with 14 points shooting 6-of-14 from the field. Her eight rebounds combined with her scoring kept the Trojans in the game many times. Freshman
Nika Bracun led the Trojans in rebounds with 10.
The Golden Eagles got off to a 6-0 run before freshman
Abbey Bernas put the Trojans on the board. Cornerstone would eventually build a 12-point lead after a series of turnovers by the Trojans that allowed CU's Alyssa Van Ham the layup, putting her team in front 19-7 with 9:38 to play in the first.
The Trojans would pull it back to within nine thanks to sophomore
Arielle Miree's three-pointer to beat the shot-clock. Finishing on an 8-0 run to end the half, fueled by four different Trojans scoring during the run, Trinity would go into the break trailing by just five, 25-20.
To open up the second half, the Eagles would go on a 10-0 run to open up their largest lead of the game up to that point, at 35-20. Basha Ramsey would then score on two consecutive possessions followed by a 12 footer from Nika Bracun to bring the game to within 10 with 13:20 left in the half. That would be as close as the Trojans would get however, as the Eagles pulled away by outscoring TIU 27-19 in the second half.Sophomore
Amari Parham much like last game left no room for her defenders to breathe tonight as her tough nosed defense sparked some energy for the Trojans. Parham finished the night with two steals, one of four Trojans with at least two picks in the game. The Trojans collected a season high 13 team steals, as Daja Johnson and Ramsey both had a team-high three apiece.
The Trojans open up CCAC action Wednesday, November 12 as they host St. Xavier University in the Van Dixhorn Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m..
