DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Senior Clarissa Woodard led Trinity International with 19 points, including a perfect 9-for-9 performance from the free throw line, but a slow start was too much for the Trojans, who fell 90-57 Saturday night to the Roosevelt Lakers.

Roosevelt (16-7, 7-4 CCAC) scored the first nine points of the game, and quickly took a double-digit lead after a three-pointer made it a 12-2 game within the first four minutes of play. The lead would grow to as much as 35 points at halftime, as TIU would shoot 9-of-30 (30.0%) from the field and get to the free throw line just once in the first half. Freshman Arielle Miree led the Trojans with five points at the break, including a buzzer-beating layup to make it a 56-21 score.

Trinity International (3-16, 0-11 CCAC) outscored the Lakers in the second half, 36-34, but were never quite able to close the gap. Woodard scored 17 of her 19 points after the break, going 4-of-8 from the field in the second half.

Sophomore Daja' Johnson pulled down a team-high six rebounds on the night, while Abigail Hemmeger and Amari Parham recorded a pair of assists apiece to lead the team. Hemmeger also picked off four steals in the game.

The Trojans are back in action next Wednesday, Feburary 5, when they host No. 6 Cardinal Stritch inside the Meyer Sports Complex. Tipoff against the Wolves is set for 5:30 p.m.
