DEERFIELD, Ill. -- The goals came early and often for the 22nd-ranked Trinity International Trojans on Saturday, as junior foward and leading goal-scorer
Samantha Yasatan put her name on the score sheet five times on the way to a 8-1 victory over the Purdue-Calumet Peregrines.

Purdue-Calumet did get on the board first, however; Rachel Shmagranoff put her team in front 1-0 just 30 seconds into the match in what briefly looked to be a dangerous start for Trinity. Yasatan answered about five minutes later with her first score of the game, and 10th of the season, when she connected on a pass from
Kathryn Baccash for the equalizer.
From that point forward, Trinity was well in control.
Morgan Elzinga found her fourth game-winning goal of the season in the 14th minute on an unassisted strike. Yasatan then put the game away with three goals over a ten minute stretch before halftime;
Melissa Loretto picked up a pair of assists during the run, while Elzinga and Layla Zahnizer each dealt out assists as well.
Finishing the day with her fifth tally, Yasatan put away her 14th goal of the season right after halftime, as Loretto again found the Racine, Wisc. native in the 46th minute.
The Trojans would add two more scores in the final half hour of regulation. Zahnizer scored her second goal of the season in the 60th minute, while junior
Chantal Vargas would score her first of the year just two minutes later.
Senior Liz Burzynski would make three saves in the match for her fourth win of the season.
The win improves the Trojans' record to 5-1-1 on the year, and 1-0-1 in the CCAC. TIU is currently one of six programs in the conference to remain unbeaten in league play, and sit second in the standings with four points.
TIU will begin a two-match road swing next week, when they travel to Palos Heights on Wednesday, October 1. The Trojans will face off against the Trinity Christian Trolls, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
