The Trojans (1-2) managed to out-shoot the Crusaders (1-2) by a 9-0 margin in the first half, including eight shots on goal, but could not find the net until after the halftime break. TIU also had five corner kicks in the first half, opposed to Clarke, who did not earn a corner until the second half.

After Sean Avila made the first of his three saves on the night in the 50th minute, Reget put Trinity on the board in the 51st, connecting on a pass from Noah Smith for his first goal of the season.

The Trojans were caught offsides on their next chance, but less than two minutes from their first goal, Reget scored again in the 53rd, with Erik Yamane earning an assist on the play.

Trinity were able to go ahead by three goals in the 64th minute on the first penalty kick opportunity of the young season. Clarke's Erik Baumann was given a red card after committing a foul in the box, leading to Yamane putting away the PK and giving TIU the 3-0 lead.

Playing with 10 men, the Crusaders were able to battle back for a late goal in the closing minutes, as CU's Anthony Pantaleo put his team on the board in the 85th minute.

Reget led the team in most offensive categories, tallying five shots, with four on goal. Avila earned the win in his first appearance of the season, making three saves with just one goal allowed.

Trinity will look to get back to .500 on the season as they quickly return to Deerfield and prepare for their match this Friday. TIU hosts NCAA Division III foe Lakeland (Wisc.) at Schartner Field on Sept. 5, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
