JOLIET, Ill. - Playing three matches over two days, the Trinity International Trojans suffered three losses at the first of two CCAC Crossover tournaments this weekend, hosted this time by the University of St. Francis.

Marissa Boelter led the way with seven kills on the night, while also collected 13 digs, second only to
Becca Kowalczuk who posted a match-high 19 digs.
TIU's closest game came in the second, when
Gabby Miller gave the Trojans a 23-21 lead with a kill. Purdue-North Central scored three straight to earn game point at 24-23. A service error gave Trinity a point and the serve, but the Panthers finished the set with a kill and a block to win 26-24.
On Saturday, Trinity fell in straight sets to the host St. Francis Saints, 25-18, 25-9, 25-21.
Suzanne Knudtson recorded her third double-double of the season, picking up 16 digs while dealing out 13 assists in the match.
Later in the afternoon, TIU wrapped up the Crossover with a loss to Indiana-South Bend, 25-15, 25-23, 25-13.
Mickayla Staal and
Alida Knudtson led the Trojans with seven kills each, while Suzanne Knudston collected ten digs.
The Trojans will continue CCAC play in the North Division next week, when they travel to Judson on Tuesday night, October 6. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. from the Linder Fitness Center.
