HOLY CROSS, Ind. – Trinity International outscored their opponents in three of four periods, but a big second quarter for the host Holy Cross Saints proved too much to overcome, as the Trojans fell 61-50 on Saturday afternoon.

JaToya Woods posted 12 points as the only other Trojan in double figures.
Rayelle Ross scored nine points, all in the second half, on 4-of-8 shooting.
Holy Cross (2-5, 1-1 CCAC) jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start, before
Jendayi Campbell and Falvo combined for back-to-back threes to tie the game. Trinity (2-4, 0-2 CCAC) took their first lead at the 1:05 mark of the first quarter, when
Marlou Peters' jumper made it a 14-13 score.
The Trojans started the second period with a three-point advantage, but with just two field goals in the quarter, the Saints went on a 14-2 run over six and a half minutes to claim a 27-15 advantage. Trinity went into the halftime break down 12, after being outscored in the second quarter 17-5.
Trinity's deficit grew to as much as 18 in the third quarter, with the Saints opening the second half on a 10-4 run. TIU pulled back to within 15 when Falvo was fouled shooting a three at the buzzer, converting all three free throws and closing the gap to 49-34 at the end of the third.
Falvo opened the final period with a three-pointer on TIU's first possession, but HCC's Jessica Norris connected on a three of her own to keep any momentum on the side of the home team. Ross' layup-and-1 at the 3:36 mark pulled the Trojans to within 11, but Trinity would shoot 1-for-6 the rest of the way and were unable to make a comeback run.
The Trojans continue the current two-game road swing on Tuesday night, when they face the Judson Eagles. Tipoff from Elgin is set for 5:30 p.m.
