ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - In the first CCAC match of the season, the No. 17 Trinity International Trojans played solid defense, but were unable to find the back of the net, as the host Robert Morris Eagles defeated the Trojans 1-0 on Saturday evening.

Both sides played a scoreless first half, with the Eagles (2-3-1, 1-0 CCAC) outshooting TIU by a 8-2 margin. In the 66th minute, RMU's Abby Vandergriff found the rebound of a free kick on goal and put in the first and only goal of the match.

The Trojans (1-3-1, 0-1 CCAC) had one last chance on goal, with Jillian Kolster's shot in the 89th minute, but the attempt was saved by the RMU keeper.

Freshman goalkeeper McKenzie Chappell finished the night with nine saves, setting a new season high. Brianna Bernholdt led the Trojans with two shots.

Trinity returns home for a pair of matches next week, first with the St. Xavier Cougars on Wednesday, September 23. Kickoff from Schartner Field is set for 4:00 p.m.
