Box Score | Season Stats
Freshman
Ashlyn Spay led the Trojans (10-27, 4-15 CCAC) with ten kills on the night, while junior libero
Becca Kowalczuk led the defense with 14 digs.
Trinity held a lead down the stretch in the opening set, after a 9-2 run put the Trojans in control at 12-6, thanks in part to three kills from Spay. Judson (17-18, 9-10 CCAC) rallied back to within one, after a run of four straight closed the gap to a 15-14 Trojan lead. A pair of Judson hitting errors later put Trinity ahead 22-20, but the Eagles would respond with the final five points to come from behind and take the first game.
Six of the first eight points of the second set would go in favor of the Trojans, and two more errors by Judson would give TIU an early 8-5 lead. The Eagles would eventually move in front 13-12, but a kill from
Gabby Miller and service ace from
Kayla Jacks would edge the Trojans back in front. Judson would take the lead for good with an 8-1 response however, at 21-15, and would claim the two-set lead in the match.
Looking to force a fourth game, the Trojans tied the score three times early on, but were never able to edge out in front during game three. Leading by a narrow 12-11 margin, Judson would pull away with five straight points and go on to close out the match in three sets.
As the season comes to a close, Trinity Volleyball posted it's highest win total in five years, and will finish with a 10-27 overall record.
