ELGIN, Ill. – Four players had multi-hit days at the plate, but for the third game in a row an early lead was lost in the late innings, as the Trojans suffered a 9-4 loss at the hands of the Judson Eagles on Monday afternoon.
Box Score | Season StatsTrinity (13-12, 3-5 CCAC) held a one-run lead through the first six innings, before a four-run outburst in the top of the seventh gave the Eagles (18-14, 6-1 CCAC) the edge.

Jon Debowey each went 3-for-4 in the loss, with Gomski scoring twice and Debowey driving in two RBI. Freshman first baseman

Adam Vignola went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
Judson took the first lead of the day with a two-run top of the first, when the first two Eagles reached base, then scored on a two-out single up the middle. The Trojans responded in their first trip to the plate, with four straight singles from the heart of the order, driving in
Jeff Lindberg, Gomski, and Debowey for the 3-2 lead.
Both pitchers settled in, as
A.J. Bruner retired nine straight through the middle innings. The Trojans loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the 3rd, but were unable to pad their lead.
The Eagles moved in front during a 7th-inning rally in which the first two batters of the frame were retired. Five straight singles drove in four runs, giving Judson a 6-3 lead. Debowey's RBI single in the bottom of the 7th pulled the Trojans to back within two, but Judson would tack on one more run in the 8th and two in the 9th to take the win.
Trinity is back in action tomorrow, when they hit the road to take on the Purdue-Calumet Peregrines in a doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
