CRESTWOOD, Ill. – Senior pitcher
A.J. Bruner recorded his 11th victory of the 2016 season, setting a new single-season record in Trinity International's doubleheader split with the Roosevelt Lakers on Monday night. The Trojans split their final twinbill of the regular season, winning game one 4-3 in ten innings before falling 7-0 in the nightcap.

Bruner pitched all ten innings in the win, earning his 11th complete game of the year. The Evansville, Ind. native scattered ten hits while allowing just two earned runs on the night.
Junior shortstop
Jeff Lindberg provided the game-winning hit, with a two-out double down the right field line, driving home
Colt Foerch for the walk-off run in the bottom of the 10th.
Roosevelt (22-22, 13-16 CCAC) struck first with three runs in the 3rd inning, but the Trojans (23-24-1, 11-17-1 CCAC) responded with a three-run bottom of the 4th. Freshman first baseman
Michael Balistreri started the rally with a two-RBI triple to left, scoring
Jiri Vavrusa and
Justin VanderNaald.
Adam Vignola's sacrifice fly then tied the game in the next at-bat, 3-3.
In game two, the Lakers pounced for four runs in the 2nd and two more in the 3rd on their way to a 7-0 lead through four frames. The Trinity bullpen, comprised of
Jeremiah Carter,
Zachary Haning, and Nathan Schagel allowed just one base hit the rest of the way, but the Trojan offense was unable to put together a rally.
Lindberg finished 3-for-5 at the plate in the first game, and a combined 5-for-8 overall on the day to lead the Trojans with two of the team's four multi-hit performances between both contests.
Trinity finishes the regular season on Wednesday, with the resumption of the suspended game against Trinity Christian from April 11. First pitch with the Trolls is yet to be announced.
