MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Trinity International were unable to grab a second straight win to begin conference play, as the Trojans fell on the road at Cardinal Stritch on Tuesday night in four sets, 26-24, 25-15, 21-25, 25-20.

Gabby Miller led Trinity (4-8, 1-1 CCAC) with ten kills on the night, while
Becca Kowalczuk led the defense with 10 digs.
The Trojans had a chance to win a tight opening set, jumping out to a 4-1 lead to start the match and remaining in front throughout most of the set. Following an ace dealt by
Marissa Boelter to put the Trojans up 22-17, Cardinal Stritch (10-5, 3-0 CCAC) responded with four kills and an ace to tie the score at 22-22. A Trojan block and a Stritch hitting error gave TIU set point at 24-22, but again the Wolves responded, winning four straight to take the opener.
Trinity then fell in the second game before bouncing back to take the third. Three blocks from the Trojan front line, including solo blocks from
Mickayla Staal and
Ashlyn Spay put TIU in front 7-2 to start game three. After Cardinal Stritch chipped away at the deficit and eventually moved back in front at 10-9, Trinity scored four straight to reclaim an advantage, as Spay dealt out a kill and an ace during the run. TIU would hold the lead the rest of the way, as Miller closed out the win with a kill at 25-21.
Looking to force a fifth set, Trinity won three of four points to open the next game, including another solo block from Staal. The Wolves would take the next five points to move in front however, and would lead the rest of the way. Back-to-back hitting errors would pull the Trojans to within a point at 20-19, and Miller's tenth kill of the night made it a 21-20 edge for the home team, but Stritch finished out the match with four straight points.
The Trojans will step out of league play this weekend to compete in four matches at the Clarke (Iowa) Tourney, beginning on Friday.
