Trinity unable to keep up with #23 Tigers

Tashyra Burrough led Trinity International with a career-high 21 points, but the Trojans were unable to keep pace with No. 23 Olivet Nazarene, falling to the Tigers 110-83 on Saturday afternoon.

Basha Ramsey collected 10. Trinity committed a season-high 46 turnovers, allowing the Tigers to build an early lead they would hold most of the game.
Sarina Falvo would give the Trojans the lead on a steal and layup to open the first quarter, but four straight scores from Olivet would put the home team ahead 9-2, as the Tigers would lead the rest of the way. A frantic rally by the Trojans to open the second half closed the gap, as the TIU defense held the Tigers scoreless for five and a half minutes during a 19-0 run, with the final ten points coming from Burrough. Olivet responded with six straight to go back up by double digits, 69-58 with 4:30 left in the third.
Nika Bracun's three-pointer at the 2:22 mark would be the last field goal of the period for the Trojans, as Olivet scored 13 straight to close the third with an 85-65 lead. Bracun led Trinity with seven points in the fourth quarter, but the Trojans were unable to put together another run.
Jendayi Campbell led the Trojans with eight rebounds on the day, while
Arielle Miree dealt out nine assists to lead TIU.
The Trojans wrap up the quick two-game road trip next Tuesday, January 17, when they step out of conference play to visit Lincoln Christian (Ill.), beginning at 7:00 p.m.
