VERO BEACH, Fla. - Senior
Justin VanderNaald was dominant both on the mound and at the plate Wednesday morning, pitching a complete game shutout while driving in two RBI in Trinity International's 12-0 victory over Penn State-Kensington at the Historic Dodgertown Invitational.

VanderNaald allowed just three hits while striking out five in his first win of the season and second of his career. The Trojans (5-7) jumped out early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by Michael Balisteri's two-RBI single.
Trinity would add two more runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, with
Jeff Lindberg picking up an RBI in each frame. The Trojans would put the game away in the bottom of the 6th, scoring six times including a two-out, two-RBI double to center field from VanderNaald, driving home
Chris Isaac and
Jacob Hood.
With the victory, the Trojans pick up back-to-back wins for the first time during the Florida swing, and set a new season high with 12 runs scored. VanderNaald, Lindberg, and catcher
Joel Stephenson all finished the day with two base hits.
Nick Gehrt reached base three times in the win, going 1-for-2 with two bases on balls.
The Trojans are back in action Thursday, March 9, when they face Lawrence Tech (Mich.) in a single game beginning at noon CST.
