Sara Grygus tallied five RBI during game one, while sophomore
Taylor Carli collected four RBI in game two, as Trinity International pounded out a combined 25 runs in a doubleheader sweep over the Maranatha Baptist (Wisc.) Sabercats at Heritage Park on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman pitcher
Grace Magnuson earned her third win of the season in the opener, pitching four of the five innings of a shortened 15-1 victory. Magnuson tallied five strikeouts while allowing just one base hit.
After leaving runners on base in each of the first two innings, Trinity (5-15) broke through in the bottom of the 3rd, taking advantage of three straight walks to open the frame and scoring ten runs on four more hits and three Maranatha errors. Grygus posted three RBI during the rally with a two-out bases-loaded single, then drove home two more runners in the bottom of the 4th on a sacrifice fly and a throwing error.
Sophomore
Taylor Carli picked up her second victory of the year in game two, striking out seven in four innings of work during the Trojans' 10-0, five-inning win. At the plate, Carli finished 2-for-3 with four RBI to lead the Trojans, who posted multiple-run rallies in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings.
Trinity took an early lead in the 2nd after a leadoff walk from
Valerie D'Ambrosio, who then stole second and scored after a throwing error on the play. Two more runs came home later in the inning on a wild pitch for the 3-0 advantage. Carli added to the lead in the bottom of the 3rd, scoring Grygus and
Tenley Bozzi on a two-RBI single. The Trojans would reach the mercy rule in the 4th inning, scoring four times including two more RBI from Carli to finish the scoring at 10-0.
Carli finishes the day with six combined RBI over both games, including an inside-the-park home run in the first game. The Lombard, Ill. native collected a team-high four base hits on the day, going a combined 4-for-6 at the plate.
The Trojans are back in CCAC action next Wednesday, April 5, when they host the Roosevelt Lakers beginning at 2:00 p.m.
