WATERTOWN, Wisc. - Freshman pitcher
Zach Nolan earned his first career complete game shutout, as Trinity International rebounded from a close loss in game one of Monday's doubleheader to take game two, 5-0.

Nolan pitched all seven innings while allowing just two base hits on the day, striking out six. The Zimmerman, Minn. native retired ten in a row at one point during his outing, which was his first career start and improved his record to 1-0 on the season.
The Trojans (12-23) broke through at the plate in the 6th inning, when a pair of walks and a
Michael Balistreri double set the table for
Justin VanderNaald, who drove in the first run of the game after behing hit by a pitch.
Matt Pierson's single in the next at-bat drove in two more to give TIU the 3-0 advantage. Trinity would add to their lead in the top of the 7th on
Adam Gomski's RBI single, and a sac fly from VanderNaald to secure the 5-0 final.
In the first game of the day, VanderNaald pitched a solid six innings, giving up only two runs in the first inning, but it would be enough for Maranatha (2-19) to take a 2-1 decision.
After being held scoreless thoughout most of game one, the Trojans rallied in their final trip to the plate in the 7th inning. With baserunners on first and third,
Joel Stephenson put Trinity on the board with a groundout, driving in VanderNaald. The Trojans were unable to drive in the tying run however, stranding the baserunner at second.
Balistreri had one of the best days at the plate for TIU, going 3-for-3 with a double, run, and walk in game two.
The Trojans will step back into conference play on Tuesday, when they host CCAC leaders St. Francis for a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m.
