Women's Soccer extend unbeaten streak to six with win over RMU

DEERFIELD, Ill. - In yet another solid overall performance the TIU Women's Soccer team picked up their sixth CCAC win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Robert Morris on Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans came out of the gates quickly to open the match, and found the back of the net in just the 4th minute of the game. Heather Ortiz gave the Trojans the early lead after connecting on a loose ball in the box to put the Trojans up early.

With both sides getting their opportunities on goal the Trojans again pressed offensively, and their strong play was rewarded. Senior Kylie Bowman drove the length of the sideline after connecting passes from Ortiz and Jillian Kolster. Bowman then cut in and slotted the games second goal off the post and in for a 2-0 lead.

Despite trailing by a pair of goals the Eagles quickly stormed back 25 seconds later with a goal of their own to make it a 2-1 game.

After the half time break the Trojans continued to control the pace of the game and got some breathing room when Kaylee Wallentine calmly finished the third Trojan goal of the game to seal a 3-1 victory.

The Trojans will look to continue their winning ways this weekend when they head to Bourbonnais to take on CCAC rival Olivet Nazarene at 4 PM.
