DEERFIELD, Ill. - In the first CCAC Crossover Tournament of the season the TIU Volleyball team went 1-2 over the weekend, suffering losses to Indiana University - South Bend and Trinity Christian before defeating Governors State University to round out the invite.
In their opening match of the tournament on Friday night the Trojans and Titans battled all evening long, with neither side able to grab ahold of the match. With the Titans up two sets to one the Trojans battled back and won the fourth set to send it to a deciding fifth game. Despite their valiant efforts IUSB closed out the match in 5 sets, ending the Trojans conference winning streak.
On Saturday morning the Trojans and Trolls squared off in their second match of the weekend, and once again the Trojans struggled to get things going offensively. (RV) TCC showed why they are one of the top teams in the CCAC, defeating the Trojans 3-1 and handing them their second loss of the weekend.
TIU finally got into the win column in their final match of the weekend, defeating Governors State University in a hard fought five set battle to close out the Crossover. Three Trojans finished the match with double digit kills as
