DEERFIELD, Ill. - After scoring just 16 points in the opening half the TIU Men's Basketball team exploded for 56 second half points to win their first CCAC game of the season, a 72-62 victory over IUSB.
After registering just 16 points in the first half, and shooting just 25% from the field the TIU Men's Basketball team found their shot offensively in the final 20 minutes of play.
Led the strong play of
Greg Carlyle and
Brandon Lawani the Trojans went 21-35 from the field, good enough for a 60% shooting percentage.
Four second half threes from Carlyle and another double-double from Lawani helped push the Trojans to their fifth victory of the season.
Four Trojans finished the night in double figures, with G. Carlyle leading the way with 18 points. Not far behind was Lawani with 16, while
Jeremy Carlyle and
Jamal Bailey each posted 14 points in the win.
The Trojans will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday when they travel to Chicago to take on St. Xavier University at 7:30 PM.
