POINT LOOKOUT, Missouri - In their final match of the 2018 season the TIU Volleyball team came up short in a five set thriller with Grace College on Friday afternoon.

Brianna Torres capped off her debut season with her best performance of the year, finishing the game with a season high 20 kills and 25 digs. Playing in her final match of her career Senior setter
Katelyn Sommers tallied 53 assists during the match, putting the Trojans in great position offensively all game.
It was a back and forth match all afternoon long with the two teams each having their opportunities to take control of the match.
After dropping the opening set of the match 25-16 to the Lancers the Trojans battled back once again and took the next two sets 25-22, and 28-26 to take a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth set.
With a chance to finish the match after four sets the Trojans struggled with the offensive attack of Grace. The Lancers totaled 15 kills to the Trojans 10 in the fourth game, sending the match to a deciding 5th set.
In the final game of the match the Lancers continued to fire offensively, racking up 8 kills while taking advantage of 4 Trojan errors to defeat TIU 3-2.
The Trojans wrap up the season with a record of 24-18, their first 20 win season in over a decade and their first appearance at the NCCAAÂ national Tournament since 2010. The Lady Trojans will now look to the offseason in preparation for another successful season in 2019.
