WHEELING, Ill. - A 7th inning rally in game two that was caped off by an
Emily Doomis walk off RBI single sent the Trojans to a doubleheader sweep over Robert Morris University on Thursday afternoon. The Trojans cruised to a game one victory, defeating the Eagles 9-2 before Doomis sent the Trojans to a 7-6 win in the second game of the day.
Trinity International found success at the plate early and often in the opening contest, six extra base hits through the first three innings. The Trojans registered a season high four triples in the game, with three of them coming in the 1st inning. The Trojan offense continued to shine throughout the remainder of the game, tallying 12 hits from six different players
Payton Carli led the way for the Trojans in the game one win, going 4-4 with two triples, a double, a home run and 4 RBI's in the win.
In the second game of the afternoon the Trojans found themselves in a battle with the Eagles from the opening pitch. After TIU took a 4-2 lead in the 3rd inning on
Tenley Bozzi's third double of the day the Eagles clawed their way back to take a 6-4 lead heading into the 7th inning.
The resilience of the Trojans was on full display in the 7th inning as the Trojans would score three runs without recording an out.
Jessica Vroman led things off with an infield single which was followed by Carli's second homer of the day that would tie the game 6-6.

The Trojans look to keep things going tomorrow when they travel to Elgin to take on CCAC rival Judson University at 4 and 6 PM.
