DEERFIELD, Ill. - The TIU Men's Soccer team earned their first victory of the year this afternoon, defeating Taylor University 3-1 on Schartner Field.

The Trojans dominated the game from the opening whistle, controlling the possession through the majority of the game.

Freshman Kortu Josiah got the Trojans on the board early in the first half, connecting with his first goal of his career after a beautifully played ball from T.J. Cake found the Freshman inside the box.

After the first half finished with the Trojans on top 1-0, TIU found the net for a second time and yet again it was Josiah who extended the Trojan lead. The Freshman finished off a pass from Nate Michaelis inside the 18 yard box, the goal would be the eventual game winner.

Taylor quickly answered with a goal of their own just minutes after the Trojans went up by a pair, but instead of giving TU any opportunity to get back in the game the Trojans sealed the win with their third goal of the match. This time Josiah Fox would bury the brace to secure the victory, his first career goal.

TIU will be back in action this weekend when they head west to Arizona to take on Arizona Christian University on Saturday afternoon.
