DEERFIELD, Ill. - It was another solid performance from start to finish for the TIU Volleyball team, cruising to a 3-0 win over Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday evening.
The Trojans opened the match with a solid first set performance, topping the Wolves 25-14 before taking a 2-0 lead after a 25-22 second set win.
In the third and final set of the match the Wolves came out of the gate quickly, keeping pace with the Trojans through the entire game. After leading the set 19-15 CSu came storming back to make it 24-21 and on the verge of sending the match to a fourth set.
Despite being down set point the Trojans rallied back with a few points and some solid serving from
Madeline Decker to come back and take the set 26-24, and the match 3-0.
Decker finished with a team high 9 kills while
Katelyn Sommers tallied 28 assists in the win.
The Lady Trojans are back in action next Tuesday when they travel to Elgin, Ill. to take on CCAC rival Judson University.
