ELGIN, Ill. - It was another solid performance from the TIU Volleyball team as the Lady Trojans collected their third CCAC win of the season, a 3-1 win over Judson University on Tuesday night.
The Trojans opened the match on a strong note, winning the opening set 25-16, before eventually dropping the second set of the match 25-20.
Despite the momentum shifting towards the Eagle, TIU continued to show the resiliency they have all season, taking the last two sets to win the match 3-1.
"I am very proud of our resiliency and the way we responded tonight," said Head Coach
Luke Ward. "Our offense was clicking and
Katelyn Sommers commanded the court by putting our hitters in one on one situations."
"We adjusted really well after dropping the second set, and started playing our brand of volleyball," Ward added.
Sommers put forth another solid night with 47 assists while the trio od
Madeline Decker,
Brianna Torres, and Matty Hakwins each added double digit kills in the win.
The Lady Trojans return home this Thursday when they host St. Ambrose University at 7 PM inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.
