DAVENPORT, Iowa. - In a defensive battle all game long it was St. Ambrose who came away with the late victory as the Lady Trojans suffered a 1-0 defeat on Wednesday evening.
In the opening half of the game neither side was able to get anything going offensively. SAU fired 8 shots in the first 45 minutes, while the Trojans put three on frame before the halftime whistle.
As the second half played out both sides again continued to get opportunities on frame but both goalkeepers were up to the task. The Bee's finally broke through in the 88th minute when an errant pass slipped through the back line and left Tori TImerman all alone for the breakaway goal.
The Lady Trojans are back in action this weekend when they host Judson University on Legacy Weekend at 12 PM.
