DEERFIELD, Ill. - After snapping their three game losing streak the TIU Men's Basketball team was looking to make it two wins in a row, but a tough Cardinal Stritch team handed the Trojans a 71-64 loss on Wednesday night inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.
It was a cold shooting opening half for the Trojans, shooting just 36% from the field, and just 18% from behind the three point line.
Steven Jenkins led the Trojans in scoring in the opening half with 8 points, but TIU headed into the halftime break trailing 39-33.
It was a much better performance from TIU in the second half, with the Trojans battling all the way back from down 9 points to take a 42-41 lead after a
Thadeous Johnson three point bucket.
Despite taking the lead early in the second half it was all CSU through the remainder of the game, with the Trojans unable to hang onto the lead and eventually losing 71-64.
TIU will look to get back into the win column on Saturday when they host Trinity Christian on Upward Night at 7 PM.
