WHITING, Ind. - Looking for their second consecutive CCAC win in as many games the TIU Women's Basketball team came up short in a hard fought battle with Calumet St. Joseph, suffering a 67-59 loss to the Wave on Saturday afternoon.
Three Trojans finished the game in double figures, with
Krystal Walker leading the way for TIU offensively, finishing the game with a team high 14 points.
Kylee Daniels and
Bridgette Smith each tallied 10 points of their own to pace the Trojans.
The opening 20 minutes saw back and forth action, with both sides getting out to an early lead, but it would be the Crimson Wave who would head into the half with a 31-26 lead.
The Trojans made their best comeback effort in the second half, but the early lead from CCSJ was too much to overcome.
The Trojans will step out of conference on Monday when they welcome Lincoln Christian University for a 5 o'clock tip inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.
