The Lady Trojans played extremely well, putting together an all-around dominating performance to sweep the Crimson Wave in straight sets, 25-5, 25-17, 25-13. TIU's offensive rhythm made it difficult for CCSJ to find any groove in their play. The Trojans also tallied ten service aces, including six from Kierra Kopeke.
Penina Sao continued her stellar play on defense, leading the Trojans with 20 digs, while Matty Hawkins recorded a team-high eight kills in the win. With eight CCAC matches remaining in the season, TIU improves to 8-2 in conference play in a tie with Olivet Nazarene for second place.
The Trojans will take a brief hiatus from conference play as they travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 for the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament, hosted by Indiana Tech University. There, TIU will take on Indiana-Kokomo, Concordia (MI), Goshen (IN) and Indiana Tech.
