BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The Trinity International University volleyball team won a back-and-forth thriller on Tuesday night at Van Dixhorn Arena as they took down the Saint Xavier Cougars in four sets, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 25-22.

The Trojans came out hot, putting immediate pressure on the Cougar defense in the first game. The next three games were a different story as each game saw both teams battle for momentum with long-winded rallies. Saint Xavier hung with TIU throughout the entire second set before slipping past to even the match at one set a piece. Much could be said for the final two sets, as the Trojans took early leads in both only to see the Cougars claw their way back into the fight. However, it was TIU who prevailed down the stretch of each set as they would take the match three sets to one.

Freshman Skyler Muramoto led the game with an outstanding 33 assists. Defensively Penina Sao totaled 19 digs on the night, while Sara Andric and Brianna Torres each compiled 12. On offense, Andric tallied 11 kills while Torres notched 10.

The Trojans return home to Van Dixhorn Arena on Thursday, October 24 for another conference matchup as they host the Judson University Eagles at 7:00PM. TIU will also honor Lukas Settecase and his family during the game as the team supports Lukas' battle with lukiema. A silent auction will also be held to support his family.
