PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Trinity International University volleyball team took to the road on Tuesday night as they took on the conference leading Trinity Christian Trolls. TCC won the first meeting of the season back on September 5 in Deerfield with a 3-1 victory over the Trojans.
Trinity Christian dominated the night from start to finish with a punishing offensive attack, and forcing the Trojans into 18 errors on the evening, en route to a 3-0 sweep over TIU, 25-13, 25-14, 25-13. The Trolls dished out six service aces in the match compared to the Trojans one, all while posting a .314 attack percentage.
Senior Sara Andric totaled a team-high seven kills in the match, while Matty Hawkins, Madeline Decker and Zoey Pinter each had four kills each. Penina Sao notched 10 digs on defense, while Anna Skyrpchak dished out 16 assists.
The Trojans return home on Thursday, October 31 to begin a two match homestand, hosting the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints at Van Dixhorn Arena at 7:00PM. TIU won the first meeting of the season against the Saints back on September 10 in Joliet in a five set thriller.
