#23 Indiana Tech shuts down TIU in second half

FORT WAYNE, Ind. --- The Trinity International University men's basketball team took to the road on Saturday afternoon as they visited the 23rd ranked Indiana Tech Warriors in non-conference action.

TIU kept good pace with Warriors in the first half, matching their opponents in shooting from the field. Brandon McQueen led the way for the Trojans with eight points in the first 20 minutes with eight rebounds as TIU went into the halftime break trailing 35-27.

Indiana Tech's size and speed would be a major factor as the Warriors would pull away from the Trojans in the second half, outscoring TIU 58-40. The Trojans would struggle greatly to rebound the ball as they were held to just 11 board during the entire half, while the Warriors, behind 25 rebounds and 74% shooting from the field, cruised through the final 20 minutes to hand TIU their second loss of the season, 93-67.

McQueen would end the day with 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Thadeous Johnson also notched double-digit points with another 13. Micah James recorded ten points off the bench in 22 minutes of relief, while John Hilitibran scored nine.

The Trojans return to action on Wednesday, November 13 as they host the Indiana Northwest Redhawks at Van Dixhorn Arena for their first home game of the season. Opening tip is scheduled for 7:30PM.
