NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The Trinity International University men's basketball team took to the road on Monday night in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play as they visited the Holy Cross College Saints. Coming off a narrow loss to Robert Morris prior to the Thanksgiving break, the Trojans looked to get back to their winning ways.
Holy Cross put together a dominant offensive performance on the floor, shooting 62% from the field, and holding TIU to just 44% as the Saints defeated the Trojans 89-66. The Saints also dominated the three-point game, hitting 10 shots from beyond the arc, and holding TIU to just three on the night. While the Trojans were able to play well inside the paint, they struggled to control the ball, turning it over 16 times and allowing 19 points off turnovers.
Junior guard Brandon McQueen led the Trojans with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes in the loss. Thadeous Johnson notched 12 points and five boards, while both Trevor Ross and Diamond Presniakovas each recorded nine points.
TIU returns to action on Saturday, December 7 as they welcome the Crimson Wave of Calumet College of St. Joseph to Van Dixhorn Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
