CLERMONT, Fla. - Looking to cap off their Spring Break trip on a high note the TIU Softball team ran into two hot hitting teams, suffering a 9-0 loss to Reinhardt University and 9-1 loss to Bellevue University on Thursday afternoon.
In their opening game of the day, the Trojans pur forth a solid performance through the opening two innings, but 4+ run rallies in the 3th and 6th inning was all Reinhardt needed to defeat TIU.
Danielle Dayley,
Brooke Heraty,
Lauren Neveau, and
Sara Grygus all registered hits for the Trojans, but the early advantage from Ru was too much to overcome.
Looking to bounce back in their second game of the day Trojans got out to a hot start against Bellevue. After Neveau led off the game with a single Heraty once again delivered for the Trojans, driving a triple to the right field wall to send the Trojans to a early 1-0 advantage.
Despite trailing early the Bruins showed why they are one of the top in the countries, and rattled off 9 unanswered runs to put the game away, handing the Trojans a 9-1 loss.
The Lady Trojans will enjoy a few days off before returning home and hitting the road to take on Siena Heights University next Thursday afternoon.
