The Trinity International University volleyball team played host to the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose University on Saturday afternoon at Van Dixhorn Arena. TIU made quick work of their opponents from Iowa, beating the Bees in straight sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-18. 

TIU showed dominance in the match showing a .304 kill percentage as Brianna Torres and Matty Hawkins had nine kills each, and proved unstoppable by the Bees with Penina Sao having nine digs, showing great defensive plays to keep the Trojans on the front end of the match. 

After a tight start to the opening set, the Trojans went on a five point rally to open up a healthy lead. Brianna Torres helped lead the TIU attack as the Trojans blazed across the finish line to take an early lead in the match.

Both teams traded runs in the second set before Madeline Decker and Sara Andric helped the Trojan offense put the finishing touches on another well executed set.  In the third, a series of errors by St. Ambrose helped TIU jump out to a quick start. The Trojans would dominate the final four points to complete the three set sweep and pick up their second conference win of the season.

 TIU takes on Indiana University Northwest on Tuesday at Van Dixhorn Arena. Match is set to start at 7:00 PM.
