DAVENPORT, Iowa --- The TIU women's basketball team took to the road on Saturday afternoon as they visited the Saint Ambrose Fighting Bees in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play at Lee Lohman Arena. Coming off a difficult loss at Cardinal Stritch on Wednesday night, the Trojans looked to rebound against a resilient Saint Ambrose team.
After a tightly contested first quarter, the Trojans struggled greatly in the second, being held to just five points in the period on a day in which the TIU offense couldn't seem to find its shot. The Bees dominated the game in the paint and posted four players in double-digit scoring figures.
Despite a slow offensive day, Trinity found some life on defense with Alina Jahnke recording seven blocked shots and three baskets from beyond the arc from Amber Reynolds off the bench. While Taylor Hibicke provided some offense for the Trojans from mid-range, it would not be enough as TIU dropped their second straight game to fall to 0-5 in CCAC play by a score of 77-59.
Carly Scheblo led Trinity with 15 points on a 41% shooting day with five rebounds and four assists. Hibicke scored 12 in the loss, while Reynolds notched nine points. In addition to her seven blocks, Jahnke scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.
