DUBUQUE, Iowa --- After securing victory in a nail-biter on Wednesday night against Trinity Christian, the TIU women's basketball team returned to the floor on Friday night as they took on the Eagles of Emmaus Bible College in eastern Iowa.
From the opening tip, the Trojans dominated the game on both sides of the ball, forcing 20 Emmaus turnovers and recording 13 steals. After struggling in recent weeks with their three-point shooting game, TIU excelled from distance as they knocked down ten baskets from beyond the arc, including five from Amber Reynolds.
Just over half of Trinity's shots would find the bottom of the net as the Trojan defense held the Eagles to 39% shooting from the floor. Defensively, Alina Jahnke continued her domination of the rim with three blocks, adding to her record setting total this season. Five Trojans would finish the day in double-digit scoring figures as TIU rolled to a 93-60 win over the Eagles.
Reynolds led the Trojans with 17 points with Jahnke scoring 16. Taylor Hibicke notched 13 points with 11 from Brittany Gafare and ten from Carly Scheblo.
