Trinity drops homecoming match to Tigers

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- After a week away from the field, the TIU men's soccer team returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they hosted the Olivet Nazarene Tigers in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play for homecoming. Coming off a 4-2 loss last weekend at Roosevelt, Trinity looked to break out of their recent set of struggles and pull off a critical upset.

ONU struck quickly out of the gate as Justin Eisenmann scored just 92 seconds into the match on an assist from Fabio Hasler for the 1-0 lead. Trinity would respond just six minutes later in the seventh minute as Trenton Garside found Josiah Joseph for the equalizer, evening things up at 1-1.

In the second half, the Tigers would regain the lead in the 48th minute as Eisenmann connected with James Lynch for the go-ahead score coming out of halftime. TIU wouldn't stay down for long however as Joseph found Xavier Brown midway through the 65th minute to tie the match at two goals a piece. The celebration would be short-lived for the Trojans as Olivet Nazarene jumped back out ahead two minutes later on an unassisted goal by Max Jesper. Jesper would add another score in the 75th minute on a Kurodo Ihara assist as the Tigers handed TIU the 4-2 loss at home.
