Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

TIU falls to Governors State to close 2021 season

PALATINE, Ill. --- After being postponed due to wet field conditions over the weekend, the Trinity International University men's soccer team hosted the Governors State Jaguars at Celtic Park in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play. Coming off a 3-0 shutout in their last outing at Saint Ambrose, the Trojans looked to finish the season strong in their final match of the 2021 season.

Facing off against one of the CCAC's top teams, the Trojans struggled to put the ball on goal on Monday afternoon, totaling just four shot attempts all match. The Jaguars struck quickly with Alexander Judd scoring just 61 seconds into the contest on a goal past Trinity goalkeeper Jonathan Ayala.

TIU spent much of the match battling for possession in the midfield, and got some offensive opportunities before being shut down by GSU's speed and defense. Governors State would pull ahead 2-0 in the 57th minute as Andy Latorre scored on a double-assist by Judd and Juan Manuel Rodriguez. Adam Przytula and Jonny Mueller each would challenge GSU keeper Luis Ramirez late, but would be unable to crack the scoreboard as the Trojans fell 2-0 to the Jaguars to close out the season.
