Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

TIU extends win streak to five with win at Roosevelt

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The TIU women's basketball team looked to keep their season-best four game win streak alive as they visited the Roosevelt Lakers on Saturday afternoon in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play. After defeating Judson on Wednesday night, the Trojans looked to even their season record at .500.

TIU and Roosevelt wrestled back-and-forth for early control of the lead before the Trojans went on an offensive road late in the second quarter. Amber Reynolds continued her hot shooting from beyond the arc with back-to-back three-point shots in the final two minutes of the half. Alina Jahnke helped give Trinity an 11-point halftime lead with a pair of free throws to end the second period.

Against a balanced Laker team, the Trojans stretched their lead to as many as 14-points, but struggled to put Roosevelt away, who shot 41% from the floor to cut the TIU lead down to four. However, backed by a strong game in the paint and their ability to draw contact, Trinity was able to find their way to the free throw line for 16 attempts, sinking 81% of their shots, enough to hold of the Lakers for a 69-63 win.

Daniela Lopez led the Trojans with 16 points in the win, with 14 points from Amber Reynolds. Alina Jahnke scored 13 points with seven rebounds and two blocked shots, and Taylor Hibicke notched nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
