Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Trojans end season with 1-0 loss to Lincoln

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The TIU men's soccer team played their final match of the 2020-21 season on Saturday afternoon as they hosted the Lincoln College Lynx in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action at Schartner Field. After a thrilling 2-1 overtime win on Wednesday against Governors State, the Trojans looked to replicate their formula and earn another win against the league's second place team.

TIU and Lincoln kicked things off amid cool and rainy weather, but it did not seem to affect either squad. Both teams applied a few shots, but the defenses would shine in the first half resulting in a 0-0 tie at the end of the first 45 minutes. The Trojans and Lynx would however rack up the fouls with 13 each in a physical matchup.

The second half would start out with more fouls from the Lynx as they would foul 16 times in the second half to the Trojans four. Both squads would get more shots on goal, but it wasn't until the 58th minute when Isaac Noreiga would find the back of the net behind Trinity goalkeeper Daniel Hill, assisted by Luca Ganio-mego for the 1-0 lead. It would be the only score of the match as the Trojans tried to get back into contention, but struggled to find a rhythm as the Lynx would slow down the Trojans by the excessive amount of fouls to end TIU's season with a one goal shutout loss.
