NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The TIU women's soccer team traveled to northern Indiana late Tuesday afternoon as they took on the Holy Cross Saints in the quarterfinal round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament. After winning their last four matches, the Trojans looked to reverse their fortunes from their previous matchup with the Saints, which ended in a 3-2 overtime loss on March 23.

Holy Cross would start the game well with good possession of the ball, and have ten shots in the first half of play. The Trojans would have five shots in the first half, but both teams struggled to find the net through the first 45 minutes of play.

Trinity would see more offensive opportunities in the second half with a pair corner kicks, but would fail to capitalize on them. HCC would have seven corner kicks and would find the back of the net on a corner kick when Olivia Shaw would serve the ball to the back post to find Audrey Filippo for the go ahead goal in the 77th minute. Although the Trojans would try to get back into the game, the time would expire in their defensive half, giving Holy Cross the win and ending TIU's season.

ADDITIONAL GAME NOTES

• TIU falls to 11-3 against Holy Cross after today's loss. Trinity has now lost their last three matches to the Saints.

• Tuesday's loss was TIU's fourth shutout loss of the season.

• The loss was Trinity's second consecutive CCAC Tournament exit in the quarterfinal round. The Trojans lost at Trinity Christian last season in the opening round.

• TIU was outshot 18-9 by Holy Cross, including 5-3 in shots on goal.

The Trojans end their season with a 7-6 overall record, and 7-5 mark in CCAC play.
