Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Trojans fall 2-0 in opener to #11 Wildcats

MARION, Ind. --- After a four month break following the shortened and postponed COVID-19 season of 2020, the TIU women's soccer team returned to action late Saturday afternoon as they kicked off the 2021 campaign on the road at 11th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan. Coming off a 7-6 run last season with a 24th consecutive CCAC Tournament appearance, the Trojans looked to start off the new season well against a tough opponent.

Indiana Wesleyan, with a pair of games already under their belt, would dominate possession throughout the match, giving the Trojans very few opportunities on offense. Despite this, Trinity was able to play solid defense by clearing multiple IWU attacks from in front of the goal. Both teams would head into halftime with a scoreless tie.

The Wildcats however would break the tie in the 47th minute as Jackie Norris slipped the ball past TIU goalkeeper Sarah Davis on a header, and a pass from Sydney Brown. 13 minutes later, IWU would score again with Brown once again providing the assist on a goal, this time from Lauren Turner. Davis would save three additional shots on goal, while sophomore teammates Abigail Olsson and Nicole Boudakh each took a shot on goal, unable to find the back of the net as TIU dropped their season opener by a 2-0 final.
